Frequently asked questions
What gets asked before the demo
The short answers are here. The long ones we give in the demo, with the product in front of us.
The product
Is it a playout or a complete system?
It is a complete system: playout, scheduling, graphics, recording, ingest, As-Run and multi-seat in a single product and a single installation.
There are no modules to install separately and no servers to integrate with each other.
Do I need proprietary video hardware?
No. It runs on a Windows PC with the video engine that ships inside the installer.
The requirements are measured and published: a real floor, not a brochure estimate.
Can more than one person work at a time?
Yes. There is one full station —the one that goes to air— and as many work seats as needed against that same station.
Each person signs in with their own user and sees only what belongs to them.
Can the operator break the machine?
The station boots in kiosk mode: straight into the application, with no desktop and no access to the system.
And what each person can do inside the application is decided by permissions, one by one.
Installation and hardware
How long does the installation take?
It is a single installer and it carries everything it needs inside, with no downloads during setup.
Then the station is activated with the account's user and password, and it is enabled.
Does it run on a virtual machine?
No. The video engine needs real hardware; on a virtual machine it does not start.
We say so up front because it is the first test many people want to run.
What if I want two signals out of the same machine?
It can be done, but it changes the hardware needed, and the published figures are for one signal.
Let us talk before you buy the machine: it is cheaper than finding out afterwards.
How much disk do I need?
The program takes about 2 GB. The media library is budgeted separately, by hours of material: one hour at 8 Mbps takes around 3.6 GB.
If you are going to record the output, that space adds up too.
Licence, internet and support
What happens if the internet drops?
The station stays on air for a grace period, without calling anyone and without the operator having to do anything.
It is a grace period with a limit, not an open-ended permission: if the link does not come back, it has to be restored. We would rather say it that way than promise it works forever without internet.
Is the licence tied to the machine?
Yes: the station is bound to the machine it was activated on.
If you change machines, it is reactivated from your account. Nobody has to be called to move a legitimate licence.
What does maintenance cover?
New versions while it is current, the installer download from the client area, and ticket support in Spanish.
We say it here and not on the invoice.
Is support in Spanish?
Yes, and from the team that builds the product. There is no tier-one reading a script before escalating to another country.
